Twins win bidding for Nishioka
The Twins have been identified as the team submitting the high bid for Japanese shortstop Tsuyoshi Nishioka, who had been posted by the Chiba Lotte Marines according to rules between MLB and Nippon Professional Baseball.

He will be just about as good as Kaz Matsui who played for Mets, Rox and Astros given his previous stats in JP. He just had a breakout year this year but without that he’s about 285 average hitter that would likely translate to 220-260 average in MLB if he stays healthy, which also is an issue. He really wants to play in MLB and would take 3 mils a year easily. Don’t overpay him expecting anything of Ichiro performance. Ichiro had over 350 ave in JP with much more work ethic and tendency to stay healthy.
