Dodgers Confirm Barajas Signing
The Dodgers officially signed free agent Rod Barajas to a one-year, $3.25 million contract to again replace catcher Russell Martin. Martin, recovering from a broken hip, was non-tendered Thursday night when the two sides couldn’t close a gap of $800,000 in guaranteed salary. Barajas slugged five home runs in 25 games for the Dodgers this year after being claimed off waivers from the Mets. He will share catching duties with A.J. Ellis. – Ken Gurnick
