Furcal to Cardinals Close

The Dodgers are closing in on a deal that would send shortstop Rafael Furcal to St. Louis and open up shortstop for top prospect Dee Gordon. The Cardinals are willing to pick up most of the remaining $4 million on Furcal’s contract and he is willing to waive his 10/5 trade veto.
The deal means the Dodgers would not trade utilityman Jamey Carroll, who had been shopped. — Ken Gurnick

Much lower than Cox. Like Rappaport or even an A ball guy.
