7/27 Ryan Dempster rumors
Will Ryan Dempster be dealt before his start Tuesday? He was sitting on a cooler in the Cubs dugout on Friday, watching the game. CBSsportsline.com’s Jon Heyman reports talks between the Dodgers and Cubs are at an impasse, and that the Dodgers are looking at other options. The Dodgers have reportely offered pitching prospects but Heyman said the Cubs were asking for Allen Webster. The Dodgers have the leverage in talks as Dempster has rejected a deal to the Braves, and was believed to only be willing to go to the Dodgers. Matt Garza was another option but he may be a difficult trade candidate because the right-hander won’t get a start until the end of the week. He came out of his last start last Saturday because of cramping in his right elbow.

Forget about Dempster and Garza, Dodgers need to go after Felix Hernandez if they want to go all the way. This is the guy is what they need, check the stats against the Yankees, is the best. Also, go for a 3rd base and give the Cuban prospect an opportunity, put the pressure on him, he has a contract already. Best 3rd base will be Aramis Ramirez, the only bad thing about this will be to many right handers in the lineup. But it will take this team all the way to the World Series. Don’t go after rental players go for players that can stay and later give them an extend contract.
