Some Monday afternoon notes

  • The Yankees made qualifying offers to second baseman Robinson Cano, outfielder Curtis Granderson and pitcher Hiroki Kuroda.
  • Atlanta made a qualifying offer to catcher Brian McCann, and declined the team option on outfielder Reed Johnson
  • The Indians extended a qualifying offer to right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez.
  • Red Sox GM Ben Cherington said the Red Sox will extend qualifying offers to Mike Napoli, Jacoby Ellsbury and Stephen Drew, but not Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
  • The Cardinals made a qualifying offer to outfielder Carlos Beltran.
  • Bartolo Colon and Grant Balfour (Athletics), Bronson Arroyo (Reds) and Josh Johnson (Blue Jays) will reportedly not be receiving qualifying offers.
