Phillies to sign Byrd
After a tremendous year with the Mets and Pirates last season, Marlon Byrd has garnered a two-year deal to return to Philadelphia.
ESPN’s Adam Rubin reports the deal is worth $16 million. The news was first reported by 94.1 WIP. Byrd also played for the Phillies from 2002-05.
The Phillies had made landing a right-handed outfield bat a priority this offseason and seem to have taken care of it with Byrd, who hit 24 homers last season after signing a minor league contract to start the year.
