Report: One less LH reliever to be on the market
According to a tweet from Comcast SportsNet Bay Area‘s Andrew Baggarly, the Giants are close to re-signing left-handed reliever Javier Lopez.
The 36-year-old Lopez went 4-2 with a 1.83 ERA in 69 appearances last year, spanning 39 1/3 innings of work. He struck out 37 while walking 12 and held lefties to a .156 average (righties hit .296).
