Giants sign Morse to 1-year deal
The Giants have signed outfielder Michael Morse to a one-year contract after he split time between the Mariners and Orioles last season.
After a strong year with the Nationals in 2012 — he hit .291 with 18 homers and 62 RBIs in 102 games — Morse disappointed last year, batting just .215 with 13 homers and 27 RBIs over 88 games split between Seattle and Baltimore. His OPS plummeted from .791 in 2012 to .651 in 2013.
CSN’s Andrew Baggarly reports Morse will be an everyday player for the Giants.
