Report: Pirates re-sign SS Barmes
The Pirates have re-upped with veteran shortstop Clint Barmes on a one-year deal, ESPN‘s Buster Olney reports.
Olney tweeted on Thursday that the deal is worth $2 million.
Barmes has spent the last two seasons with the Pirates, playing in 144 games in 2012 and 108 last year. He’s primarily a defensive shortstop, combining to hit .221 with 13 homers and 68 RBIs over the last two seasons.
