Ibanez close to one-year deal with Angels
Veteran outfielder Raul Ibanez is working out a one-year deal with the Angels, according to multiple reports on Wednesday morning. SB Nation‘s Chris Cotillo first reported the two sides were close, and the OC Register‘s Jeff Fletcher reported the deal was worth $2.75 million.
CBS Sports‘ Jon Heyman says the deal is incentive-heavy, giving Ibanez the opportunity to make up to $5 million on the year.
Ibanez is still producing at a high level at the age of 41. He appeared in 124 games for the Mariners last season, belting 29 home runs and driving in 65 while hitting .242.
