Report: Yankees bringing back outfielder C. Young
The Yankees have reached a deal to bring back outfielder Chris Young, pending a physical, according to a tweet from WFAN’s Sweeny Murti.
Young impressed over the final month of the season, hitting .282 with three home runs and 10 RBIs over 23 games with the Yankees. He had hit just .205 over 88 games with the Mets before being released and signing with the Yanks.
The 31-year-old outfielder has a career .234/.313/.427 slash line while playing for four teams over his nine big league seasons.
He made his lone All-Star appearance in 2010 when he crushed 27 homers with a career-best 91 RBIs as a member of the D-backs. He’s hit double-digit home runs in each of his eight full big league seasons and has reached the 20-homer mark four times.
