Dodgers also in “serious pursuit” of Miller
Just a few hours after reporting that the Yankees are in “serious pursuit” of free agent reliever Andrew Miller, ESPN’s Buster Olney used those same words to describe the Dodgers’ apparent interest in Miller.
It’s no secret that a number of teams have checked in on Miller this offseason, meaning he will likely end up with a four-year deal when all is said and done. The worth of Miller’s eventual contract could also be driven up in the long run, given the fact that big market teams such as the Yankees and Dodgers are the ones actively in pursuit.
The Dodgers could certainly use the bullpen improvement, as Miller would likely serve as a setup man for closer Kenley Jansen. As for the Yankees, signing Miller could provide enough bullpen depth that the Yanks would then let David Robertson walk via free agency.
