Report: Dodgers, McCarthy Agree To A Deal
The Dodgers reportedly made a trio of trades throughout the day Wednesday, but that seemingly wasn’t enough.
Los Angeles has now turned to the free agent market and has agreed upon a four-year $48 million deal with Brandon McCarthy, according to FOX Sports.
The right-hander has a 4.09 ERA and a 52-65 record through nine big league seasons, but finished the 2014 season strong.
After McCarthy was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Yankees in July, he started 14 games, went 7-5 and posted a 2.89 ERA.
The Dodgers missed out on free agent Jon Lester late Tuesday night and after reportedly trading Dan Haren to the Marlins are in need of another starting pitcher.
McCarthy, 31, may fill that void.
