Report: White Sox Agree To Terms With Cabrera
The Chicago White Sox aren’t playing second fiddle.
The Cubs have garnered plenty of attention – and deservedly so – this offseason, but the White Sox are putting together some impressive moves as well.
At the Winter Meetings, the White Sox signed David Robertson and acquired Jeff Samardzija in a trade and now it appears they have added Melky Cabrera.
The White Sox and Cabrera have agreed to a three-year deal, pending a physical, according to 670thescore.com.
A subsequent report mentioned the contract “should be in the $45 million range.”
Cabrera, a switch-hitter, would give the White Sox another outfielder and is coming off a very productive 2014 campaign.
As a member of the Blue Jays, the 30-year old hit .301 with 54 extra-base hits. in 139 games.
