Report: Kalish no longer headed to Toronto

It appears Ryan Kalish may not be joining the Toronto Blue Jays after all.

According to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet, the Minor-League deal the Jays and Kalish agreed to last month has reportedly fallen through for reasons not yet known.

Kalish, a ninth round selection by the Red Sox in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft, was among Boston’s top prospects when he debuted in 2010.

The 28-year-old outfielder has played in parts of three seasons with the Red Sox and Cubs, and batted .248 (30-for-121) with eight extra base hits and five RBIs through 57 games in 2014. He’s a career .245/.293/.350 hitter in the big leagues.
